gimme that which i desire
Xmastime is coming, and I have got nearly all shopping done. Wrapping is another story. O how I hate wrapping presents. Ah well, it’s the thought that counts. Going to Florida on Friday, and coming back on Tues. Seeing Cynthia for a bit, and spending Xmas with my own family for the first time in 5 years, then hanging out in this location. Working, seeing people who flock back, etc. It will be nice. Not enough vacation, in my opinion.
Lot of news about politics lately. Who’s running, who’s not. Looks like Dean’s in it, is he? I don’t think Bush is a particularly great President, to tell the truth. A lot of people think he’s terrible, to put it nicely. I would think that he would be an easy president to take down.
Unfortunately for the Democrats and their cavalcade of ineptitude, they can’t find a more attractive candidate. Not to say they won’t reach into the barrel and grab a suitably vanilla candidate who will run more on an effortless platform of “I’m not Bush” than having anything of merit to offer besides that which encompasses “not Bush.” I’d actually consider voting for a Democrat if the pretentious bastards would give me anything worth a damn to change my mind. Hell, I’d maybe vote for John Edwards. He went to State. But I have to have a reason to change.
I would like it if other countries didn’t hate us (I’m talking about EU, not Iraq et al.). That would be a good enough platform for me.
I’m better off now than I was four years ago. Well, three, if we’re going by elections. The point stands.
To hell with it. Maybe on Election Day, I’ll stay home, cook a steak, buy some crap I don’t need just for the sake of spending money, and not vote. I’ll eat the steak in front of the TV while watching C-SPAN, as the British House of Commons makes for much more exciting TV than anything the US government has to offer anyway.
