gimme that which i desire

Xmastime is coming, and I have got nearly all shopping done. Wrapping is another story. O how I hate wrapping presents. Ah well, it’s the thought that counts. Going to Florida on Friday, and coming back on Tues. Seeing Cynthia for a bit, and spending Xmas with my own family for the first time in 5 years, then hanging out in this location. Working, seeing people who flock back, etc. It will be nice. Not enough vacation, in my opinion.

Lot of news about politics lately. Who’s running, who’s not. Looks like Dean’s in it, is he? I don’t think Bush is a particularly great President, to tell the truth. A lot of people think he’s terrible, to put it nicely. I would think that he would be an easy president to take down.

Unfortunately for the Democrats and their cavalcade of ineptitude, they can’t find a more attractive candidate. Not to say they won’t reach into the barrel and grab a suitably vanilla candidate who will run more on an effortless platform of “I’m not Bush” than having anything of merit to offer besides that which encompasses “not Bush.” I’d actually consider voting for a Democrat if the pretentious bastards would give me anything worth a damn to change my mind. Hell, I’d maybe vote for John Edwards. He went to State. But I have to have a reason to change.

I would like it if other countries didn’t hate us (I’m talking about EU, not Iraq et al.). That would be a good enough platform for me.

I’m better off now than I was four years ago. Well, three, if we’re going by elections. The point stands.

To hell with it. Maybe on Election Day, I’ll stay home, cook a steak, buy some crap I don’t need just for the sake of spending money, and not vote. I’ll eat the steak in front of the TV while watching C-SPAN, as the British House of Commons makes for much more exciting TV than anything the US government has to offer anyway.

patience, my son

So I just got these new pants from Old Navy, and the initial impression I get is that I am fat enough for them, but not tall enough. Eh.

Wanna hear an Xmas carol?

O Hooooly Craaaap
Our house is decoraaaaaated

That’s all I’ve got right now, except this picture, which proves that this song is based on a true story.

I’ll be here all week, folks.

damnation

WHY WON’T IT SNOW?

baby it’s cold dark outside

What in the hell is this? Why must I walk home in the dark?

Oh yeah. It’s December.

Welfare checks come in today. All right.

you’re a fine girl

What a great song. Doo doodnt doo doo, doooo doo doodnt doo doo!

And what a fine weekend. The food was great. The company was wonderful. The sports will not be discussed.

I got tremendous loot for my birthday. A shirt, nay, 3 shirts! Boxers! A set of dishes shaped like crabs! The new No Doubt CD! An NC State doormat! (Please to not be wiping feet on the logo.) Mints and soup and tea and the like! The list goes on and on. Not to mention the fact that my people (dad, Jill, brothers) took be out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Die Speise, es würde gesagt, war ausgezeichnet. I had a salad as big as a cheesecake, and a piece of cheesecake as good as. . . well, I loved it. Not in a platonic way, either. Let’s just refer to episode 9 of Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, in which Pee-Wee weds a fruit salad.

PEE-WEE: “I LOVE fruit salad!”
GLOBEY: “Why don’t you marry it?”
PEE-WEE: “Okay. . . I will!”
PEE-WEE: (marries fruit salad)

I guess there’s nothing to compare it to. I was reminded of the Pee-Wee skit by I <3 the 80s Strikes Back, a show that my brothers love, even though they were 9 months old and negative 2 repectively at the end of then 80s. Then again, I like watching I <3 the 70s and I was born at the end of 1980. It’s entertaining TV.

The mailman also brought me some more Victoria’s Secret catalogs, which was nice, but they just go in the stack under my bed along with the sausage catalogs.
